Jesus XP offers a Jesus-centered framework for discipleship and spiritual growth. In small groups, participants reflect on the ways Jesus connected with God and others through the Gospels as they integrate spiritual practices into their daily lives. Rather than being a Bible study, this is a space to observe, ask questions, and reconnect with the life of Jesus in community.
This 8-session journey takes your small group through the Gospel of Matthew with each session offering a Bible reading, reflective questions around the life of Jesus, and a spiritual practice to engage. Between group gatherings, participants are invited to observe the words of Jesus and commit to spiritual practices as a way to deepen their relationship with God. After the 8 sessions, the journey unfolds into a personal experience that encourages ongoing curiosity about the life and teachings of Jesus.
What makes the Book of Matthew unique?
Matthew traces the genealogy of Jesus all the way back to King David and Abraham. For a Middle Eastern Jewish person waiting for the Messiah, this was information of the utmost importance. For those of us removed by thousands of years, Matthew is compelling us toward a Jesus who is rooted in God’s ever unfolding, highly inclusive plan to redeem humanity. Matthew’s relationship with Jesus is marked by a transformative calling to follow him.
