Jesus XP is a discipleship journey centered on Jesus’ words and ways. Small groups come together to examine how Jesus engaged with God and others through the Gospels as they explore spiritual practices and discover how to walk with him in their daily lives. This is not a traditional Bible study but a space that invites you to observe Jesus, ask questions, and rediscover His teachings in community.
This 8-session experience leads your small group through the Gospel of Mark, with each session designed around a Bible reading, reflection questions about Jesus’ life, and a spiritual practice. In between sessions, participants will engage with the words of Jesus and commit themselves to spiritual practices that foster a deeper connection with God. At the end of the 8 sessions, the journey continues into a personal experience that encourages ongoing curiosity around Jesus’ words and life.
What makes the Gospel of Mark unique?
Written to encourage the early followers of Jesus in Rome, Mark demonstrates that Jesus is Israel’s Messiah, who inaugurates God’s Kingdom through his suffering, death, and resurrection. Mark’s Gospel is the shortest of the four Gospels and the first to be written. It is fast-paced with an emphasis on action. Mark’s Gospel ends abruptly with the women discovering the empty tomb and the angel telling them to go and tell the disciples. This leaves the reader with a sense of openness and mystery and a need to know more.
