Jesus XP is a framework for experiential discipleship. It can work as a small group resource or a churchwide experience. We’ve built the structure; participants build the story with the guidance of a leader, some videos, and workbooks.
We believe that discipleship happens best in community, so we have created ways for you to engage in your own context, but also with us. We love to hear from you about how these tools are bringing real-life transformation to your community.
The Jesus XP framework is built around some basics to building community:
Check in: This is a time when we get to exercise a holy curiosity for one another and ask questions like “Hey, how did you sense Jesus inviting you in?” or “what practices from last week have you find particularly meaningful?”
Reading through a Gospel together: in eight weeks you're reading an entire gospel book.
We will practice Lectio Divina. Simply put, lectio divina means “divine reading” and is an ancient practice of scripture reading, reflection, and prayer. We read the passage slowly, three times, experiencing those words and the invitations of Jesus with your head, your heart, and your hands.
Finally, we will explore three questions as prompts for deeper discussion. The hope is that these questions create a culture of curiosity in the safety of intentional gathering.
Want to go deeper still? Try our practice cards for a multi-sensory devotional experience.
Lead a larger group through the first few practices or break into smaller groups for more personal encounters.
With the Jesus XP, the living word is with us, and we encounter it together.
If you don't like the practice, you can always return to the other way of life. But we think that you'll find that this is the good life. This is the Jesus experience.
